THE ALL-AMERICAN HERO: [ Formerly a rookie cop for the Raccoon City Police, Leon Kennedy was one of the few survivors of the zombie outbreak in the city. While attempting to find safety, Leon accidentally stumbled upon a gigantic conspiracy revolving around the infamous Umbrella Corporation-- he even discovered one of their labs underneath the RCPD. He eventually faced off against one of their creations - the Tyrant - and then escaped the city entirely, along with Ada Wong (who actually saved his life) and Claire Redfield. The experience left him without a job, or a home; but not for long.
Hearing of Leon's daring confrontation against the Tyrant and of the conspiracy behind Raccoon City (which was nuked completely at the Government's discretion), an Anti-Umbrella group hired Leon as an agent to do missions and discover more of the pharmaceutical company's secret experiments. Leon would go on to do this until he was hired by the CIA itself, who felt he would be an excellent secret agent. Leon, now an experienced officer and covert-op agent, was sent to rural Europe to rescue Ashley Graham, the newly elected President's daughter.
Seems she'd been sighted in a small farming village, and suspicions were she'd been kidnapped for ransom. Leon was driven out to the general area of the sighting, only to have insane villagers immediately detonate his car and kill both of his drivers. Stranded and under siege, Leon dove into the woods, slowly making his way to their village where he confirmed the impaled body of one of the officers, while the villagers went about their day normally. However, Leon was attacked upon sight, with the entire village rushing toward him, including a completely rabid psychopath wearing a sack on his head and wielding a massive chainsaw. (supposedly the "doctor" of the village.) Leon was forced to kill them all, only to discover later that some or all of these people were infected with an airborne parasite called the "Las Plagas". The Las Plagas are part of a rising cult in te village called the "Los Illuminados" who intend to hold Ashley hostage, and then inject her with the Las Plagas only to give her back to the President; thus spreading the parasite to America. Leon, however, rescues her and they attempt to make an escape from the village. Leon's thinking this is all just his luck when they capture the two and Leon gets injected with a parasite as well.
Leon wakes up tied to Luis Sera, a researcher for the leader of the cult, Lord Saddler. Luis is a suspicious character, but wants to help Leon after he saves his life. Luis promises to get Leon the antidote that will stop the growth of the monster in him and Ashley temporarily, until they can escape. Unfortunately, when Leon and Ashley reach the castle outside the village, Ashley is caught yet again by Salazar, the lord of the estate.
It is while navigating this castle that Leon runs into Ada Wong, but the chat is short-lived as Ada makes her escape with exploding sunglasses.
Leon battles his way toward rescuing Ashley when Luis shows up, holding a sample of the Plagas and the antidote-- and a stinger through his gut. Saddler's caught wind of Sera, and shows up to kill the researcher and take back the sample. He vanishes, leaving Luis to give Leon the medication and a few bits of information before succumbing to his wound.
Leon finally catches up to Salazar and Ashley, but Ashley's already gone; with some of Saddler's men "to an island". Salazar is getting rather sick of Leon's interference in the cult's plans, and mutates into a Plagas plant monster, which Leon immediately destroys. After escapeing the castle, Leon makes his way to the waterfront, where Ada offers him a ride across the lake to the island where Ashley is being taken. Ada disappears immediately after reaching the other side (right as Leon tried to make a move on her) and he's left to infiltrate Saddler's heavily guarded lab himself. To make things more fun, Saddler disrupts his radio communications with Hunnigan, his informant, leaving Leon to further fend for himself.
Using his expert reflexes and steady aim, Leon gets past the security and infiltrates the military compound, where he is attacked by his former anti-Umbrella comrade, Krauser, who was long assumed dead. He's gotten a Plagas for himself, and is apparently working with Albert Wesker, agent of Umbrella, for its revival. Ada saves Leon from being shanked by Krauser, who vanishes only to reappear for a more stealthy battle of hide and seek in some ruins. Leon defeats Krauser and his winged Plagas while the rain beats down on them both, and finally rescues Ashley. Now Saddler is getting a little frustrated, especially when Leon locates their second lab along with a way to destroy the Plagas with radiation. The two get rid of their inner demons and continue on to find a way off the island-- but now Leon's got back-up. The cavalry arrives and armored helicopters declare all-out war on the facility, bombing anything they can as Leon tries to find Saddler.
In the end, after destroying Saddler's men and decimating his experiments, Leon tells it like it is: He's here to kick Saddler's ass. Saddler's Plagas proves much stronger than the others, but thanks to Ada's quick timing with a handy rocket launcher, Leon destroys the monstrosity and thinks he may finally have the sample -- but Ada wants it a little more. He reluctantly hands it over, hoping she knows what the hell it is, and knowing full well himself that she's up to nothing good. In exchange, Ada tosses him the keys to a jetski moored nearby for him and Ashley to escape on. As the island explodes behind them as they escape, Ashley thanks Leon for saving her, and even hopes he can come back to her place and "protect" her some more. Leon politely refuses, but asks Hunnigan what she's up to when it's all over. Hunnigan is polite to remind him he's still on duty. Story of his life. ]
